AzuraCast is a turnkey, open-source platform for web radio: it gets your own radio station on air entirely via a web browser. AutoDJ automatically plays your playlists according to your broadcast schedule, live presenters can join in using their own logins, and listener statistics show you when and how many people are tuning in. Icecast streaming and SFTP uploads for your media library are fully integrated. With Managed AzuraCast Hosting from OpenHosting, you focus on your programme – we take care of the installation, operation and maintenance.

Unlike commercial streaming services, you don’t pay any extra per listener or station: you rent an instance and design your radio station however you like.

Who is AzuraCast suitable for?

AzuraCast is ideal for anyone in Switzerland who wants to run their own radio or audio programme. Clubs and neighbourhood radio stations broadcast with several presenters and a clear schedule, cultural organisers and festivals stream their programmes live, and educational institutions run school or campus radio stations as media projects. The platform is also of interest to SMEs – for example, for in-store radio in retail outlets or a company-owned audio channel where the music selection is managed centrally.

AzuraCast Hosting in Switzerland

OpenHosting operates your AzuraCast instance on a fully managed basis in Swiss data centres in the Zurich region. Your media library and user account data are stored in Switzerland in compliance with the nDSG and are backed up daily using a 3-2-1 backup strategy – hourly under the Business Plan. Updates, monitoring and support are included in the price: you manage playlists, broadcast schedules and presenters via the web interface, without ever having to deal with server technology.

As your audience grows, we will scale the instance accordingly and increase the resources. If you are migrating from an existing streaming provider, we will assist you in transferring your media library and setting up the streams. Managed AzuraCast Hosting is available from CHF 19 per month with 50 GB of storage and five users – the Business plan offers 250 GB of storage and 25 users for larger editorial teams.
